Hosting Veggie/Fruit A Month - Coconut Event

There are few rules of this event:

• You can use Coconut raw, cooked, toasted, baked. You can use coconut milk and oil. But, the only thing is that COCONUT has to be the STAR of the recipe. Get Creative !!!
• It can be any course of the meal (appetizer/main course/side dish/dessert/beverage or breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack).
• Recipe has to be strict vegetarian (eggs are allowed ONLY in baking). This is simply to re-enforce the fact that we can eat veggies without any meat and also for all our vegetarian friends, who do not eat meat.
• You HAVE to make new recipes and old archived posts are not allowed. This is just so that we try and make new fresh recipes :)
• Please send in your entries before end of October 31st 2011.
• If you are a blogger, you can simply send your Name and URL of your recipe at priya DOT mitharwal AT gmail DOT com with the subject of "Veggie/Fruit A Month - Coconut".
• Non bloggers can email me your name, recipe and picture at priya DOT mitharwal AT gmail DOT com with the subject of "Veggie/Fruit A Month - Coconut".
• Link your post to this event.
• Always try to buy and use locally grown veggie and fruits :)

Here are some basic rules
1. Make a dish using the ingredients mentioned (Wheat flour & Jaggery/Brown Sugar/Cane Sugar). Ingredients not on the list can also be used, but we should be able to taste the mentioned ingredients.
2. Only vegetarian entries. Eggs are allowed in baking.
3. Use of logo is appreciated as it helps spread the word.
4. Link to both Vardhini's Dish it Out announcement and this announcement is mandatory.
5. Archived entries are accepted as long as updated with these hyperlinks as above.
6. Non bloggers may also send in their entries.

Zesty Palette Series - Halloween Fiesta : Event Announcement

It is October already and pretty soon it is going to be all about pumpkins. So, why not an event to celebrate the same? This event is not limited to just food, it is about anything you see fit for Halloween. You can send in carved pumpkins, spooky desserts, Halloween celebration pictures, costume pictures and so on. You get the idea right? I am excited to see what my fellow bloggers and non bloggers are going to come up with for this event. Now on to the rules.

To make it more global and since pumpkins play an important role in Halloween, any dish featuring pumpkin (Pumpkin pie, Pumpkin puree, Pumpkin sambar, etc. ) can be sent.

This event is going to run from October 1st to November 5th. Special events like these are going to be grouped under a series called "Zesty Palette Series (ZPS)". 

Now comes the rules for the event.

1. You can send in any post related to Halloween. It can be food related or it can be carving pumpkins or dressing up in costumes. Even if you are not blogging about it, you can send in your Halloween pictures and I will include those in the roundup.

2. If sending food items, please send in only vegetarian entries. The food item can be Halloween specific like spooky desserts or can be any dish featuring pumpkins like pumpkin sambar, etc. Eggs are allowed only in baking.

3. Posts must be linked to the event announcement.

4. Usage of the logo is appreciated.

5. Any number of entries can be sent. If sending archived entries, do link them with this announcement.

6. Non bloggers can also participate by emailing me their entries.

7. The last date for entries is November 5th 2011.
